GIVING

We are proud of and feel privileged to be a part of the community of people who are the EREF ‘family’ - our donors, colleagues, scholars, scientists, members of the Research Council and the Board of Directors.  If you believe as we do, in the value of empirical science which can develop and evaluate new approaches to manage solid waste, we encourage you to join us in our mission.

Here are different ways you can contribute:

Your cash gift or gift of appreciated securities can be outright or a multi-year pledge, in addition you have the option of selecting the point of impact:

  • scholarships for Master’s level engineering students or for Ph.D environmental scientists;
  • projects that will advance our understanding of the best possible waste management practices;
  • or for the general endowment to be used as the EREF board determines.

Your in-kind contribution for the EREF Auction:

The EREF auction at WasteExpo is one of the largest charitable auctions in the United States which raises over $1 million each year from the absolute auction of new refuse equipment and other items donated by members of the Waste Equipment Technology Association and the National Solid Waste Management Association.

Examples of donated equipment include:

  • Complete refuse trucks, front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs
  • Compactors and balers
  • Trash carts and receptacles
  • Lift systems

If you would like to discuss the contribution of in-kind refuse equipment, call the EREF Director of Development at 919.861.6876 ext. 103.

Your participation in the EREF Fall Classic Golf Tournament:
Each year the EREF pairs with two solid waste companies (most recently Republic Services, Inc. and Veolia Environmental Services) for the Fall Classic Golf Tournament and since the tournament began in 2003 it has provided revenue in excess of $1.3 million.

If you would like further information on our golf tournament, call the EREF Director of Development at 919.861.6876 ext. 103.
