Scholarships – FAQ

Do I need to complete an application for each scholarship that EREF offers?

EREF has one scholarship application that applies to all scholarships. EREF’s Board of Directors and staff determine which scholarship is awarded to a student.

Do I need to cite references in my research statement?

It is not required, but if you choose to include them, they are included in the 500-word limit.

Can illustrations be inserted into the research statement?

No.

What does the recommender need to submit?

The provided recommendation form is required. If your recommender would like to submit a letter as well, they may attach it to the recommendation form and submit them together.

Where does my recommender submit the recommendation form?

They must submit their form through InfoReady. They have two options

(1) they can submit it through the original email they received. Clicking “Start Letter” will bring them to a link to upload their document. If they have lost their original email, you can send them a new one through your saved or submitted application.

or

(2) they can create an InfoReady account (using the same email address where the letter was requested) and they can upload the letter through the “letter” tab.

Is my application considered complete if my application considered complete if my recommenders have not have not completed the recommendation?

The application is not complete without the 3 recommendations.

What do I do if my recommender is not able to complete the recommendation before the application is due?

The recommendations are critical to the application, so please select another recommender. You will need to contact a staff member from the Scholarships Program to change your recommender once the application is submitted.

Please only submit transcripts that are in English.
