Assessing Beneficial Use of Landfill Gas

Landfill gas management plays a large role in the environmental impacts of waste management decisions. A complete database provides key data for assessment of the state of practice of landfill gas management in the United States. Using EREF’s database of MSW landfills, landfill gas collection and management practices are being inventoried.

Project Goals:

• Develop a database of permitted Subtitle D MSW landfills
• Aggregate data on the tonnage and gas management method at each facility
• Assess the state of practice of landfill gas management in the United States
