Learn about a newly funded research project titled “Evaluation and Management of High-Moisture Waste Disposal in Municipal Solid Waste Landfills.” This research focuses on the management of high-moisture content wastes (HMWs) and municipal solid waste-HWM (MSW-HMW) mixtures. The overall objective of the research is to combine a thorough understanding of the engineering properties of HMWs and MSW-HMW mixtures with industry experience to develop recommendations for disposal and management practices. This presentation will provide an overview of the state of research related to the engineering properties and disposal of HMWs, how adding HMW to MSW can affect the hydraulic and mechanical behavior of mixed wastes and how the results from the research can be used by industry to dispose of HWM in MSW landfills.
There is no cost to register, but registration will be limited.
NOTE: This kickoff meeting will take place online through GoToTraining.
