Leachate 301: Treatment Technologies

This course will build on the concepts in Leachate Courses 101 and 201, where the basics of leachate generation, regulations, and treatment and disposal were covered. Leachate Treatment Technologies will provide an in-depth dive into physical-chemical and biological treatment systems for both active and passive treatment approaches, including aerobic and anaerobic processes.

Presenter Bio

Mr. Cooper is the National Water Resources and Wastewater Practice Leader for Civil and Environmental Consultants. He has designed over 100 leachate, industrial, and municipal wastewater treatment plants and oversees projects in wastewater reuse, wastewater permitting, and treatability. He is a graduate of Union College and has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University. He is a PE in 13 states, and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers with a Wastewater Treatment Specialty. He is the chair of SWANA’s Leachate Management Committee, and serves on WEF’s Industrial Waste Committee, and was a co-author on the Water Environment Federation’s Manual of Practice for UV Disinfection.
