EREF Seeks Prospect Development Manager
Position Summary:
The Prospect Development Manager supports the Vice President of Development by serving as the operational backbone of EREF’s fundraising function. This role is responsible for ensuring thoughtful execution across the donor engagement process, CRM operations, prospect research, pipeline tracking, initiating action steps and reporting.
The position is designed to maximize the effectiveness of the development department and the frontline fundraising of the VP of Development. This will be primarily accomplished by implementing new and existing structure, consistency, and visibility to fundraising activities – enabling stronger conversion of donor relationships into philanthropic outcomes.
Principle Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement Process Management
- Drive the established framework around the Donor Engagement Process (DEP) through a well-established track record of leadership, creativity and problem solving in this area
- Serve as the primary owner and champion of the CRM, ensuring data integrity, timely entry, dynamic reporting, and utilization across Development, MarCom, Events and Finance
- Maintain donor records, contact reports, proposals, and pipeline stages
- Ensure donor communications, meeting follow-ups, and commitments are on schedule
- Assist in drafting solicitation materials, stewardship communications and impact updates
- Coordinate donor meetings, scheduling, and preparation
Reporting
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports for weekly, monthly and quarterly review
- Produce regular fundraising activity and pipeline reports
- Support goal tracking against monthly, quarterly, and annual development targets
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities within the DEP
Additional Support
- Incorporate emerging technologies including AI, machine learning and predictive modeling to enhance prospect discovery, segmentation and personalization
- Assist with annual giving through multi-channel fundraising initiatives (email, mail, digital)
- Travel to EREF or partner events when appropriate to support development efforts
- Perform other duties related to fundraising support and operations as assigned
Qualifications:
- Collaborative working style with a service-oriented mindset
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development or fundraising operations, donor services, development support; including moves management and donor pipeline tracking
- Strong proficiency with CRM systems, reporting, dashboards, and data management with a preference to Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge
- Solution-first mindset, highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with consistency
- Strong written communication skills; able to draft donor correspondence and reports
- Comfortable “managing up” and reinforcing structure and follow-through
- Ability to translate data into clear visuals and insights
Prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree with a preference toward a discipline which compliments principal responsibilities
- CRM and fundraising database experience required
- Proficiency with creative spreadsheets, reporting tools, and word processing
- Dependable, professional, and deadline-oriented
- Ability to work in the EREF office during standard business hours (with hybrid flexibility)
