EREF’S Caitlin Conklin Recieves Waste360’S 40 Under 40 Award 

Raleigh, NC | February 19, 2025 – The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) is proud to announce that Caitlin Conklin, Senior Director of Engagement, has been named to Waste360’s prestigious 2025 40 Under 40 awards list. This honor recognizes dynamic young leaders who are driving innovation and shaping the future of the waste, recycling and organics industry. 

Since 2019, Caitlin has raised EREF’s industry profile through events, education, and stakeholder engagement. Her leadership and dedication have made a significant impact in advancing EREF’s mission, furthering the Foundation’s commitment to a more circular economy. She currently oversees all fundraising, networking, and education events, as well as the Foundation’s marketing and communication strategies. 

Dr. Bryan Staley, EREF President and CEO, cited Caitlin’s contributions:

The Waste360 40 Under 40 awards program highlights professionals under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to the waste, recycling, and organics industry. The honorees represent a diverse range of roles, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recyclers, policymakers and product suppliers. Finalists and winners were selected by a panel of expert judges from Waste360, with input from external advisors. 

The 2025 award recipients will be celebrated during an awards ceremony in Las Vegas on May 6, 2025, at WasteExpo, North America’s largest event for the solid waste, recycling, organics, food waste recovery and sustainability sectors.
