Description

Emerging contaminants, like PFAS, are an increasing challenge for leachate and condensate management. A recent EREF-funded study evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of using Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) for on-site treatment. Results show SCWO can achieve >99% destruction of PFAS and other organic pollutants, with additional potential for cost savings and environmental risk reduction when paired with pretreatment or co-treatment strategies.
