Green Building Certifications and their Potential in Reducing Construction Waste in Developing Countries
The main objective of Vigna’s work is to compile a comprehensive set of guidelines and frameworks containing the most effective strategies on sustainable construction and waste management practices that are currently working in developing countries.
This research would inform green building councils and their certification systems from emerging economies on feasible and effective approaches to waste management plans and more sustainable alternatives to industrial processes in the construction industry. Furthermore, it can serve to instruct policy-makers and environmentally aware audiences interested in the promotion of a more environmentally sound treatment of the resources used in the construction industry for low income and less developed regions.
