Join us for our Scholar Spotlight Session, where we highlight the impactful work of the EREF Scholarship program. We’ll be featuring Sonia Moavenzadeh, a Ph.D. candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maine, whose research tackles the complex challenge of PFAS contamination.
Sonia’s work focuses on understanding how these chemicals interact within soil and landfill environments, aiming to improve containment and remediation strategies. Her research, supported by EREF, bridges the gap between laboratory findings and practical waste management, providing crucial insights for sustainable operations.
