Did you know that about 11 million tons of textile waste end up in U.S. landfills each year? This waste not only clogs landfills but also represents a lost value of at least $10.5 billion.

In this EREF Science Session, we’ll explore innovative ways to convert this waste into biogas, reducing landfill burden and generating renewable energy. Expert and EREF Grantee Dr. Sonja Salmon will share her research on simple enzymatic methods to break down textile waste, making it easier to process and convert into energy-rich feedstock for anaerobic digesters. Learn how this process can also recover valuable fibers for recycling and ultimately create sustainable revenue streams.

What You’ll Gain:

– Uncover the science behind this breakthrough research and how it can feed Anaerobic Digesters
– Learn about the potential for recycling valuable fibers from waste
– Discover how to turn textile waste into renewable energy
– Understand the economic benefits and feasibility of this innovative approach

Register here.

Upon successful completion of this Science Session, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance via email with the relevant number of Professional Development Hours (PDH) shown on the certificate. This certificate does not automatically qualify you for professional continuing education credits. It is your responsibility to verify that the PDHs from this event are eligible for continuing education purposes for your specific credentials. The certificate is only available to those who register and attend the live Science Session. Check out our past Science Sessions at https://www.youtube.com/user/EREFDN/videos.
